Our network is named Shirzan in honor of the brave Iranian women who are fighting for their freedom and autonomy. Their strength, grace and power serves as a innumerable source of inspiration and reminds us to pursue our dreams, fight for our values and rights and claim responsibility to live the lives we deserve.
The Shirzan Network was founded 2022, in the wake of the feminist revolution in Iran after the death of Mahsa Amini, with the intent to amplify Iranian voices and their call for freedom and autonomy in an unjust, violent and theocratic country.
It was soon clear that the network needed to extend beyond the fight for Iranians: advocating for the self-determination and empowerment of young women and their fight for equal rights and a better, more peaceful future.
The Shirzan Network creates spaces for exchange and female experiences with events, gatherings and mentorship.
Taking inspiration from the people of Iran, fighting for freedom and democracy, we offer solidarity hoodies to ensure that their struggle is not forgotten. These hoodies bear the movement’s slogan „Woman Life Freedom“, allowing individuals to show their support to the world.
Although the Shirzan Network has a strong focus on enabling young women, we welcome allies of any gender.
